Duke University: AI & Decentralized Systems University Tour
Campus lecture and builder Q&A at Duke University exploring the intersection of autonomous AI agents, high-throughput distributed systems, and developer careers on Solana.
As part of the Fall 2025 University Tour with OnePiece Labs and the Solana Foundation, our stop at Duke University brought together computer science and engineering students interested in how artificial intelligence and decentralized networks complement each other. I walked through why autonomous AI agents require deterministic, low-cost programmable payment rails to transact with APIs, compute providers, and other agents without human bottlenecks.
We wrapped the session with an open Q&A on engineering career paths, open-source contributions, and the upcoming Fall 2025 Solana Student Hackathon, connecting Duke student builders directly with mentorship and starter resources.
